A meeting of the trilateral contact group on the settlement of the situation in Donbas in Minsk on Tuesday is a chance for Moscow and pro-Russian separatists to confirm compliance with the agreements reached in Minsk in September, reports GHN based on Unrinform.
U.S. State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said this at a briefing in Washington on Monday.
"This is certainly an opportunity for Russia and the separatists to show they support or they will live up to their commitments," she said.
However, Psaki stated that this was not a discussion about a new ceasefire agreement, "but discussions on implementation of the ceasefire agreed to in Minsk in September, which Russia and the separatists it backs have not implemented to date."
As reported, on Tuesday, Minsk is to host another round of talks of the contact group on the settlement of the situation in Donbas. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said in this regard that during the meeting Ukraine plans "to approve a plan for the implementation of the Minsk agreements."
