The Public Defender disseminates information about refusal of the TV Company Maestro for Georgian Young Lowers Association's social advertising.

As the official statement of the Defender's office reads the basis for refusal was a critical approach of the GYLA against the TV Company's dismissal of 32 employees. GYLA stated the dismissal was unlawful.

Defender ‘s official letter reads that the refusal of the TV company for putting a social advertising was legitimate under the law, however under the Article 65 of the Georgian Law on Public Broadcasters the TV companies are obliged to launch a social advertising free of charge and as well on a non discriminative basis.

"To be noted the advertising touches issues of the early marriages problems, which are one of the main challenges for our country and very important is to raise the public awareness in this angle."
