Georgian delegation leaves for the Hague

Georgian governmental delegation leaves for the Hague, Netherlands, today to attend the hearing of the lawsuit of Georgia against Russia. The hearings will be held on September 13-17 at the International Criminal Court.

The delegation consists of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Nino Kalandadze and the Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia Tinatin Burjaliani.

Georgian authorities hope that the court ruling will be acceptable for Georgian side.Georgian government filed a lawsuit at the International Criminal Court on August 12, 2008 and it refers to the ethnic cleansing carried out by Russia in Georgia since 1990 to present.
