Russian President Dmitry Medvedev believes that there is need to overcome prevailing stereotypes among the population of Russia and other countries, opinions about the aggressiveness of NATO and the impossibility of democracy in Russia.

Russia is often seen part of the Western world, ordinary people, as a country which never can be no democracy, leadership is always committed to the authoritarian principles and which does not want to grow together with other world "- the Russian president said when making a speech at Munich conference on October 20.

He added that these things are "pretty hard sitting in people's minds, both in Russia and in Europe and the U.S.," as reported by http://medvedevinfo.ru.

"Maybe this is a domestic refraction of previous approaches, but it is. And we do feel it. And it must speak frankly: it is both here and in other countries" - the Russian president said.
