Testing in history and law of Georgia will no longer be required to get a Georgian citizenship

The bill drafted by the Ministry of Justice is considering repealing testing on basic foundations of law and history of Georgia for those interested in getting Georgian citizenship. They will be tested just in the Georgian language, reports GHN according to IPN information. All issues included in the law on citizenship have been reviewed. It has already been submitted to the Parliament.

Amendments will be made to the issue of loss of citizenship too. In particular, the possibility of loss of citizenship will be canceled due to living in another country.

In addition, according to the bill, people, who had been granted Georgian citizenship, will not be deprived of it if they get foreign citizenship. It will either be impossible to suspend citizenships of people of the mentioned category because of working in enforcement, security and similar agencies.
