Russias Adelina Sotnikova wins a gold medal while Georgias Elene Gedevanishvili ranks 19th in womens figure skating competition at Sochi Olympics

Georgian figure skater Elene Gedevanishvili held 19th position after competing in Ladies Short Program and Free Program at Sochi Olympics on 19 and 20 February respectively.

The winner of a gold medal was Adelina Sotnikova who won Russia's first ever women's Olympic figure skating gold. The 17-year-old took the title ahead of South Korea's Kim Yu-Na, the defending champion, with Italy's Carolina Kostner winning the bronze after the free skating final.

 

In total 30 sportsmen took part in the competition.
