Church marks Assumption of Virgin Mary today. Catholicos Patriarch Illia II served a holy Liturgy in Sioni Cathedral. After holy service, His Holiness preached for the worshippers and congratulated them on this day. Patriarch focused on the significance of the role of Virgin Mary in the life of Georgian nation and recollected several episodes from the life of Mother of God.
His Holiness also mentioned the construction of the monastery complex on Makhata Mountain blessed the eparchies to conduct holy services at that place.
