New friary named after St. Archangel will open in Darial valley, not far from Georgian-Russian border, on September 15, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, the Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi and Metropolitan bishop of Abkhazia and Pitsunda, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II said, during the Sunday preachment, GHN reports.
"This is not a coincidence that the monastery is located at the border. This will be our defense, "- Patriarch said.
Georgian Patriarch noted that on September 14 all night the divine service will be held. On September 15 the ceremony of opening and first divine service will conduct Georgian Patriarch.
Patriarch called all Georgian congregation to make contribution to this event; to bring a bag of flour, wine and oil. Ilia second said this will be very important not only for the monastery but as well for local dwellers.
