The Embassy of the United Kingdom has issued a statement regarding the illegal detention of Zaza Gakheladze, demanding his immediate release.
“The UK calls for the immediate release of Mr Gakheladze who has been illegally sentenced to prison for 12 years and 6 months in the breakaway region of South Ossetia.
All Georgian citizens should have the right to travel freely within Georgia’s internationally recognized borders. The UK supports Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”, - reads the statement of the Embassy.
