Today on April 30, 20 years anniversary of Georgian Army is celebrated. The establishment of Georgian Army presumed April 30 of 1991.

The military bases will attend Defense Ministry heads. The Ministry informs the festive arrangements are planned today, in the military bases of the country. The ceremony of awarding the military staff is planned. The Commemoration ceremony of died soldiers in a course of different military actions will be conducted. During 20 years the Georgian Army undergoes 4 different internal military conflicts. The confrontation with Russian Army was in unequal fighting conditions. Moreover Georgian soldiers are involved in many international peacekeeping operations in Kosovo Iraq, Afghanistan.


During 20 years of its existence the Georgian Army suffered biggest loss for the defense of Georgian statehood.
