The offcial report of Vashadze states that on September 7 at 01:05 p.m. three Russian MI-8 helicopters violated the Georgian airspace near the village Shatili. This is a violation of fundamental international law principles and the Georgian sovereignty and integrity.
The Foreign body informs that the helicopters invaded Georgia to 3 kilometers deep. They were in the Georgian airspace during 15 minutes above the head of the Georgian Border Police point. The foreign bodystates that such a rude violation will be followed by an adequate response form the Georgian party. Nevertheless Georgian party was acting with patience, as the escalation of the situation is not in the interests of Georgia or the region.
The Foreign body underlined once again that violating the cease-fire agreement agreed upon in August of 2008 is ignoring of the international law principles. The appropriate information will be passed on to the UN, OSCE, EU and other international bodies in connection with this incident.
