Georgian patrol police crew was assaulted at dawn on Thursday when they were patrolling along the boundary line. The shots were made from beyond the occupation line from various types of weapons.
Snipers were among the shooters. Georgian side ignored the provocation and did not respond to the fire. One police officer was slightly injured with a sniper shot in his leg. The injured policeman has been operated on at the Zugdidi hospital. Doctors say his health state is satisfactory.
About half an hour before the incident, the occupant regime mobilized military vehicles and some units along the border. The EU monitors have already inspected the scene and seen the unmanned drones above the occupied territories.
