Prime Minister of Georgia started his working to the UK with meeting the president of one of the most influential international ratings agency, Fitch Ratings, Paul Taylor, reports GHN based on press service of the Prime Minister.
In October, 2014 Fitch Ratings published the rating where Georgia was granted a new rating that implies improvement of the country's economic situation from stable to positive.
"We have discussed the changes and issues of improvement of structural reforms, I approved to the Prime Minister of Georgia taking those measures that will support further stability of the country. We are under impression which is performed by the Georgian Government" - the president of Fitch Ratings Paul Taylor stated after the meeting.
"It is pleasant that rating companies positively mention the current events of the country and their annual evaluation is positive as well. We expect that next year these results will be more increased and that's why our visit here and meeting with the representatives of rating companies was important" - Irakli Garibashvili stated.
Improvement of Georgian economic development from stable to positive is based on the following key factors:
- Georgia steadily continues economic and structural reforms;
- Georgia has signed the EU association agreement which in its turn includes agreement on deep and comprehensive free trade area (DCFTA). More facilitated access to the EU market will support to the growth of the Georgian investment attractiveness both in middle and long-term period;
- There is a favorable business environment in Georgia;
- There is an economic progress and political stability in Georgia that is confirmed by the elections which was held in peaceful, competitive environment democratically for the third time already;
- International organizations and observers confirm the institutional strengthening of Georgia;
- Political stability of the country with reduction of corruption supported raising trust from the side of business;
The meeting was attended by the Minister of economy of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili, head of the economic council Roman Tchkhenkeli and deputy chief of the Government administration Nino Kobakhidze.
