State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration David Bakradze met representatives of the Ukrainian NGO's, academia and media. Ukrainian delegation visited Georgia within the framework of the project "Ukraine - out of Crisis through Dialogue", reports GHN based on the Ministry of European and Euro Atlantic Integration.
During the meeting, the State Minister condemned ongoing military aggression of the Russian Federation in Eastern Ukraine and expressed his support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognised borders. The current security situation in the region was also discussed. David Bakradze noted that the signature of the so-called "treaty on Alliance and Strategic Partnership" between the Russian Federation and the de-facto government of Abkhazia, is a step towards the annexation of Georgia's territories by the Russian side and emphasised that the Russia's aggressive policy poses threats not only to Georgia and Ukraine, but also to the regional and European security.
During the meeting, the parties also touched upon the Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration process and the implementation of the Association Agreement, as well as the preparation process for the upcoming Riga Eastern Partnership Summit in 2015. The invited guests expressed their interest in the communication strategy within the Association Agreement, as well as in the issues related to the donors coordination in the framework of the EU-Georgia cooperation.
The meeting was held in Q&A format.
