Paris may never transfer Mistral-class helicopter carriers to Russia.
This was stated by French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, according to Le Figaro.
"We may never transfer them. And the Russians are aware of this situation. The transfer cannot be considered in those stressful conditions in which we are today," he said.
As reported, French President Francois Hollande said in early September that he saw no opportunity to supply Mistrals to Russia. On October 16, Hollande said that a ceasefire in Ukraine was one of the conditions for the transfer of the helicopter carriers.
