Russia should implement commitments and the resolutions adopted by the Council of Europe, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mevlut Cavusoglu said at all meetings he held in Moscow.
Mevlut Cavusoglu told media at the press conference on Friday that return of internally displaced people to their homes should start immediately. He said he continues to urge international monitors` unhampered work in the occupied territories for full control of the situation there.
`We adopted resolutions and we call on teh both sides to respect and implement those resolutions. And the resolutions covering humanitarian issues should not be politicized. I mean access of international organizations and human rights defenders to those territories. It is very important that internally displaced people return to their homes and violations of human rights be investigated. The co-rapporteurs will continue their work on general reports on the two countries, while the head of the monitoring committee will specifically prepare a report on the conflict between Russia and Georgia. So it is the monitoring committee to decide what to do on that specific report`, Mevlut Cavusoglu said.
