After Imereti and Kakheti the Government members arrived in Racha and presented detailed information on the projects implemented for the past 2 years, also planned events for 2015 to the population. Apart from the government members the governor of Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti region Parmen Margvelidze presented the report of his one-year activities to the population. Presentation of government report to the population of Georgian regions is ongoing within the project "Georgian Government for open governance", reports GHN based on press service of the Prime Minister.
As the governor notes the portfolio of investments made in 2014 in Svaneti amounts to 18 484 522 GEL. In 2014 roads leading to resort Lashichala and resort Dzughuri were arranged, and for 2015 full rehabilitation of the road of 15km to the direction of Utsera-Shovi is planned.
In addition, according to Parmen Margvelidze, in 2013 the sum allocated from the fund of regional development projects and local budget amounted to 12 191 695 GEL, and in 2014 the mentioned sum amounts to 13 245 797 GEL. On a regional level more than 580 infrastructure projects were implemented, and with the program supporting villages 339 projects are being implemented in the region for which 1 586 458 GEL is allocated.
Apart from the mentioned projects according to the deputy minister of regional development and infrastructure Giorgi Koberidze 52 different projects with the amount of 1 582 623 GEL were implemented, including the clearing works of drainage channels and collectors, village water supply maintenance and rehabilitation of roads. In 2013-2014 8 projects with the amount of 15 394 155GEL were implemented in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region by road department. In 2013-2014 2 projects were implemented in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region by the municipal development fund: rehabilitation of Oni water head structure for which 927 073 GEL is allocated and asphalting the streets in Oni - 535 315 GEL.
According to the deputy minister of agriculture Levan Davitashvili, in 2013-2014 vintage was successfully conducted in Ambrolauri municipality. Both years the price of Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli amounted to 8 GEL. The price of grapes purchased in 2014 amounted to 7 million GEL in Ambrolauri Municipality, and 1 157 500 GEL in Tsageri municipality.
Increase in the price of grapes and the programs implemented by the Government led to the adoption of new areas for vineyards. In 2014, in Amrolauri municipality 115 000 unique grape varieties (Aleksandreuli-Mujuretuli) were planted, which amounts to about 40 hectares, in Tsageri municipality in Tvishi zone 8500 Tsolikauri grapes were planted.
In 2014, the population was given 20 232 agro cards which amounted to 1 011 600 GEL in total. This year for the first time subsiding on domestic fruit reception was done by the Georgian government with the amount fo 8 tetris on 1 kg. Company "Geo flower" which is located in Ambrolauri municipality received and processed 241 510 kg domestic and 800 tons of wild apples within the mentioned program.
As for the healthcare, according to the governor, within the universal healthcare program treatment was funded for already more than 7000 people living in the region the amount of which was 612 412 GEL. The region was given 4 new emergency cars and 7 more will be given in the nearest future. In 2014 4 new ambulatories were added to the region in the following villages - Sadmeli, Ghebi, Chikhareshi, Spatagori.
From the expenses of the ministry of education and science and public schools rehabilitation works of 25 public schools and 36 nurseries are funded in the region. 21 excellent pupils were rewarded with the portative computers. Free school buses serve 40 schools. Accordingly 660 pupils use the service of transport.
After Racha the government members will present the report of two-year activities to the population of Samtskhe-Javakheti on December 12.
