Within the projects implemented in agricultural sector:
• 25 241 loans were given, in total - 670 million GEL;
• 105 new enterprises were funded;
• 580 enterprises were extended and re-equipped;
• 35 fields were funded in the sector of agriculture;
• More than 10 thousand people were employed in the enterprises.
The Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili discussed the projects implemented in agriculture sector at the presentation of new enterprises. According to him, Georgia has all the resources for the agriculture to play the most important role in strengthening the economy of the country, reports GHN based on press service of the Prime Minister.
"Our goal is to strengthen entrepreneurs, farmers, peasants through proper state policy and to make them able to respond to new economic challenges that the country faces, to produce environmentally friendly production of European standards that will be competitive and will have a steady place on local and international markets," - Irakli Garibashvili noted.
According to the head of the Government the government has particular objectives and plans that will support establishing new enterprises in the country, development of local production, and increasing export.
"For the purpose of establishing new enterprises we started implementation of the projects of preferential agro credit and co-funding enterprises processing agricultural products. These projects are ongoing successfully. As regards the project of co-funding enterprises processing agricultural products 16 projects have already been approved and from them implementation of 11 business projects has already started. Total investment of the projects is more than 22 million GEL. I am ensured that in this way our country's reforms will be more strengthened and the state of local population will be improved," - the Prime Minister stated.
According to him the Georgian Government also greatly relies on the project - "produce in Georgia" that gives great possibilities of development of local production. According to the Prime Minister in total within the three projects 105 enterprises were already funded and more than 10 thousand people are employed in the enterprises funded through the government.
The presentation of new enterprises was attended by the representatives of the Georgian Government, diplomatic corps and international organizations.
