Today, State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration David Bakradze conducted a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, H.E. Mr. Christer Gustav Michelsson at the Administration Building of the Government of Georgia, reports GHN based on the Ministry of European and Euro Atlantic Integration.
During the meeting, the State Minister informed the Ambassador on the implementation of the Association Agreement and DCFTA, as well as, the Action Plans developed by the government commission with personal engagement of the Prime-Minister. The discussion also emphasized the importance of the assistance of the EU Member States in this direction. The Ambassador, on his part, expressed a strong will to continue experience sharing and put a particular emphasis on affective implementation of the Twinning programme.
Ambassador Gustav Michelsson also expressed his satisfaction with regards to the implementation of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan and underscored, that Finland will support the decision of granting Georgian citizens a visa-free movement with the EU, if the required commitments are fulfilled.
The sides also deliberated on the security situation in the region putting a particular focus on challenges of the signed so called Agreement on Alliance and Integration between the Russian Federation and the de facto government of Abkhazia as well as the prospective of signing the similar so called agreement with the de facto government of Tskhinvali, occupied regions of Georgia both in the context of Georgia's territorial integrity as well as the regional security.
The Finnish side reiterated Finland's support towards Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
