Integration in Northern Atlantic Alliance is firm choice of Georgian people and we do everything to reach our aim, - this statement was made by the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili after the meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow, reports GHN.
As Premier said the government of Georgia highly appreciates the support of the alliance towards sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and active involvement of NATO in the politics non-recognition of occupied territories.
"We consider that the visit of NATO Deputy Secretary General to Georgia is one more step forward towards fulfilling very important decisions made on Wales Summit. We discussed in details the plan of implementation of the elements considered by the NATO-Georgia essential package. We agree that timely and effective implementation of the package will make us nearer to the final aim, to joining the alliance," stated the Prime Minister.
The reforms that were implemented after last elections in Georgia is highly estimated by the Deputy Secretary General. With the statement of Alexander Vershbow Georgia is special partner of North Atlantic Alliance.
"It must be marked the democratic reforms that were implemented in Georgia. After the last elections we see developed democracy and I want to call on the politicians, continue movement to this direction. We give high estimation to the reforms that were implemented in the direction of defense, rule of law or governing," stated Alexander Vershbow.
Deputy Secretary General also talked about the importance of the implementation of the essential package and marked that he will prepare Georgia for the membership of the alliance.
