There is banned to cancel moratorium of death penalty, stated the chairman of the legislative committee of state Duma Pavel Krashennikov. As he said there can be errors in the court decision, however it is possible to improve them; the Duma has to refrain from making radical decisions, reports GHN.
Before this the representative of Liberal-Democratic party of Russia Igor Lebedev stated that in case of leaving European Council Russia will also terminate relations with Strasbourg court and it will be possible to cancel moratorium of death penalty. Russia became the member of European Council in 1996 with the condition that it would abolish death penalty.
