The number of tourists in Georgia has decreased. According to the statistical data published by the Informational-Analytic Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in January 2015, in difference on the January 2014 the number of tourists decreased by 9%, reports GHN.
With the information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in January 2015 Georgia visited 309 467 tourists that is less than data of the same period of 2014 by 3%.
Besides according to conditional split the correlation of specific share is: a) tourist - 111 622 visit (36% of the total number, decline from the previous year's figure is 9%); b) transit - 58 028 visit (18,8% of the total number, increase from the previous year's figure 9%); c) other - 139 817 visit (45,2% of total number, decline from the previous year's figure 3%). In January 2015 the most number of visit was fixed from Turkey (-12%), Azerbaijan (+12%), Armenia (-2%), Russia (-6%) and Ukraine (-10%). Also the positive tendency is maintained from the direction of the countries of European Union: in January was fixed increase of the number of visits from Lithuania and Germany (accordingly 164% and 12%), from the countries of Middle Asia - Turkmenistan (132%), Uzbekistan (20%) and Kazakhstan (16%), from eastern European countries - citizens of Belarus and Moldova with 53% and 43% increase.
