Issue of Russian passports to Abkhazians will be resumed. about this stated the head of consulate service of Abkhazia Martin Tarkil, reports GHN.
"Hope grew since the "Agreement about alliance and partnership" was signed. The agreements states that to simplify the process of receiving of passports of Russian citizen for Abkhazian citizens will take additional measures," marked Tarkil.
As he said on this stage there was no talking about concrete decision because the mechanisms of receiving the citizenship is not yet worked out. However he expresses hope that in new future there will be made order to discuss proper mechanisms in the near future and they will talk about concrete mechanisms after this.
The process of issue of passports of Russian citizens to Abkhazian citizens was stopped in 2008 when Russia declared Abkhazia as "independent state."
