"Russia was never avoiding contact with Georgia and Russia has not stopped diplomatic relations," stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia while talking with journalists, reports GHN.
As for "Abashidze-Karasin formet" as Lavrov said it exists and he has not heard official statement about cancelling it yet, however he recognizes that they haven't met each other for a long time.
Lavrov states that as soon as Georgian side will be ready Russia will make this format work.
"I think that these meetings are useful and give possibility to exchange issues raised between sides," stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
