The Minister of Foreign Affairs Tamar Beruchashvili met the President of German Bundestag Norbert Lammert, reports GHN. The Minister of Foreign Affairs have high estimation to the close and friendly relations with the Federal Republic of Germany and Georgia.
"The visit of Lammert is demonstration of clear and compelling support. German Bundestag is ready for concrete actions. Among them for timely ratification of Association Agreement. We also talked about measures that can be taken in the direction of European and Euro Atlantic support of Georgia in Bundestag. There is readiness from German side to make all political and economic instruments active," stated Tamar Beruchashvili.
The Minister Beruchashvili fully informed German Parliamentarians about the situation in the occupied territories, acquainted with the priority issues connected to European and Euro Atlantic integration of Georgia, also the view of Georgian side concerning problematic of regional security. The Minister of Foreign Affairs underlined the importance of the support of international community and concretely Germany on the background when security and stability of Georgia and whole European Union faces serious challenges again.
Norbert Lammert one more time confirmed readiness of legislative and executive government of Germany to maximally support the process of European and Euro Atlantic integration of Georgia.
He marked that Bundestag in short period of time will accomplish ratification of Association Agreement between Georgia and European Union.
Besides on the meeting there will be paid attention to the issue of adoption of the resolution supporting European integration of Georgia by the Parliament of Germany.
The President of Bundestag underlined that reforms considered by the Association Agreement with European Union is implemented in a right dynamics and the process does not need to be lowered.
Tamar Beruchashvili thanked the President of Bundestag for the support of western integration of Georgia and its territorial integrity by the legislative and executive government of Germany.
The delegation of Bundestag with the leadership of Norbert Lammert, pays working visit to Georgia from 12 to 15 February and holds meetings with the representatives of legislative and executive government.
