"This statement is one more open confirmation that the Euro Atlantic course of our country is under real and obvious danger, on which we "Free Democrats" indicate for a long time. The essential package received on NATO Wales Summit is that plan that takes into account the location of NATO infrastructure in Georgia and support of final aim of the country to become the member of NATO," states Patriashvili.
"Frree Democtars" apply the President of Georgia as state head to make public statement and to openly fix its own position concerning this very alarming and statement.
The party also applies the State Minister in European and Euroatlantic structures in the issues of integration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to separate the statement of Zurab Abashidze and to fix its own loyalty towards the membership of NATO. Besides "Free Democrats" call on non governmental organizations not to give to the government the possibility to turn from Euro Atlantic course. With the statement of Zurab Abashidze, the special representative in the relations with Russia, NATO-Georgia relationship is directed to the aim to place NATO Military Infrastructure in Georgia.
"We inform that Georgia is independent country that's why has full right to collaborate with any kind of international organizations, among them with NATO that is very authoritative international organization. This collaboration is not directed to the aim in Georgia to locate NATO military infrastructure. This kind of plan doesn't exist in the nature. Georgia will not take this kind of step, that will impede the regional security. To the regional security, security of Georgia, and the principle of the security of Georgia is under the danger first of all by the occupation of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali, the location of Russian military troops, military infrastructure," stated Zurab Abashidze.
