The leader of the Movement for Fair Georgia, Zurab Noghaideli asserts the government wanted to use businessman and banker, Vano Chkhartishvili as a witness in order to plan a special operation of his detention.
Noghaideli briefed in this regard today and said that Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili and the Minister of Justice, Zurab Adeishvili were forcing the businessman to give testimony against Noghaideli and confirm that he was involved in bribery when he was a prime minister.
Noghaideli did not specify the source of the information, in which he was finally confirmed during his last visit to Moscow. Noghaideli says Chkhartishvili refused to give false testimony and fled Georgia.
Noghaideli asserts Chkhartishvili was in Russia for some time, but he had no chance to meet him.
`Government`s criminal methods against opponents are still in force. We have to keep on fighting to change this government and regain the chance of democratic development,` Noghaideli said.
