Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, the son of Georgia`s first president, Zviad Gamsakhurdia has been sent to custody, even though he was serving his term for attempt of premeditated murder in the prison jail.
Tsotne`s lawyer Kety Bekauri stated that the accused did not attend the court hearing. He was presented with a document under which Gamsakhurdia reportedly refused to participate in the hearing.
Bekauri said the document was not undersigned by Gamsakhurdia. She said they will appeal on the court`s decision.
Earlier, Tsotne Gamsakhurdia was sentenced to nine years in prison for attempted murder. Now, Gamsakhurdia accused of trying to bribe the Corrections, Probation and Legal Issues Ministry`s officials and transfer the letter without the relevant permission of the prison`s administration. He promised about $300 to guard for the transfer of the letter.
