On May 24-25 the Georgian Defense Ministry will host 10-th Georgian Defense and Security Conference (GDSC). The conference will be held in Tbilisi at the hotel Hotels & Preference Hualing Tbilisi.
The conference will open Tinatin Khidasheli, Georgian Defense Minister. She will also deliver a keynote Speech - The processes related to elaboration and practical implementation of GAF Mobilization and Reserve Concept
Daemon Wilson, Executive Vice President of the Atlantic Council also will be presented at the event. Mr. Nick Gurr - Director of International Security Policy, from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, will present his vision concerning the National vision about the Role of Military Reserve System in National and Global Security, experience sharing in field of Reserve officer preparation and career development programs.
The conference will revise two interactive themes. The first day fully will be dedicated for NATO and the accent on forthcoming Warsaw summit will be made. At the second day three main themes will be discussed, one of them - the security of the Black Sea wide region, as inalienable part of the Euro Atlantic security zone.
The side event will be held here too. Transforming Defense - The Role of Reserve in the National Security. The aim of the event is to facilitate further active involvement of foreign and local experts in the development process of the mobilization and reserve system of the Georgian Armed Forces and for this reason research and establish proper bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Taking into account the existing security environment in the South Caucasus region and the challenges facing Georgia, availability of the flexible and efficient mobilization and reserve system is crucial for the Georgian Armed Forces.
