Davit Sergienko, Minister of Health Labor and Social Affairs declared, in connection with the visa liberalization process, no new circumstances arise.
He underlined this is a working process, as the Commission gave a positive assessment last December, confirming that Georgia successfully met all benchmarks under the Visa Liberalization Action Plan.
EU member states' Inferior Ministers will decide the question of visa-free travel for Georgian citizens to the EU on June 10.
For information, on March 9 The European Commission proposed to the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament to lift visa requirements for the citizens of Georgia by transferring Georgia to the list of countries whose citizens can travel without a visa to the Schengen area. EU citizens can already travel visa-free to Georgia for short stays since 1 June 2006.
