Georgia is hosting now the Eighth "Environment for Europe" Ministerial Conference of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). The conference "Batumi 2016" in the hotel Sheraton Batumi was opened by the Georgian Prime Minister Girogi Kvirikashvili.
In the frames of this conference, for representatives of mass media Gigla Agulashvili, Environment Minister and Christian Friis Bach, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission hold a joint press conference.
Gigla Agulashvili and Christian Friis Bach underlined the importance of the green process in Europe, as a unique international platform in the area of environment protection decisions. The importance of the UNECE in global and national levels was stressed too.

In the frames of two days conference questions of environmental problems will be discussed such as: "Development of Green Economics in pan-European region", the improvement of air for better environment and human health.
The Eighth "Environment for Europe" Ministerial Conference include up to approximately 600 official delegates from the 56 Member States of the of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, European Commission, United Nations organizations and UNECE Secretariat, intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations, and private sector.
