"Merabishvili's case is not an extraordinary one that requires any oral hearing in the Strasbourg Court of Human Rights, "- Tea Tsulukiani, Justice Minister tells. She noted this would incur only unnecessary spending nothing more.
"This case is not any big one as Asanidze's or Shamaev's, neither an interstate case, such as Georgia v. Russia. This only one ordinary case is, against an ordinary prisoner, that's why I did not ask for the oral hearing of this case. This would incur only additional unnecessary spending, "- Tsulukiani tells in conversation with journalists.
She as well clarified that the Georgian side is not aware what verdict will be delivered by the Court. Vano Merabishvili and other prisoners from his political team are not anymore in a predetention state, they are already sentenced.
"Namely in connection with Merabishvili I would say his preterm release is not planned. The decision on June 14, would it be positive or not will not affect in no case his release question before the term, "- Tsulukiani tells.
