Kakha Kojhoridze, advisor of the President declares, Giorgi Margvelashvili will not review the question of the Presidential Pardon for Vano Merabishvili. He noted, the Strasbourg Court decision is a grave one, and after this decision the political and legislative responsibility for people involved in this case must be followed.
"In the context of such decision, President will not review a question of the Presidential Pardon for Vano Merabishvili. No doubt, the investigation must be conducted in this case. The legislation obliges us to do this. The information was disseminated concerning a crime, and consequently, the Procurator's Office is obliged to open the case in this respect. We have to investigate not only the case: was Merabishvili taken out of the cell at night, while being in the pre detention trial; but as well the question must be investigated why the Procurator's Office did not fulfill timely the obligation that invoked now such grave decision of the Strasbourg Court. This decision affected badly our state's interests, "- Kakha Kojhporidze stated.
