The France Press published an article on Georgia's integration to NATO. The comments of Tinatin Khidasheli, Georgian Defense Minister were published in this edition. She talks about Georgia's expectations at Warsaw summit.
She tells, Georgia optimistic is in questions of NATO membership. The summit is to be held on July 8 and 9 in Warsaw and Georgian Defense Minister will take part in this important event. Being with an official visit in Poland the Georgian Defense Minister declared this to France Press on June 21. "I have many reasons to be optimistic, "- she tells. For instance Montenegro membership and broadening of NATO into the Eastern part are giving hopeful promises.
"The Alliance is strengthening at the Baltic States, four battalions were sent there on a rotation principle. The membership of Montenegro denotes that an open door principle will be used and this natural is. This gives us promises for the next stage of a membership, "- Khidasheli tells when she was at the Marshal Fund meeting in Warsaw and the discussions touched an issue of the open door policy.
"The strengthening of Eastern part of NATO responds fully to the existing aims of Georgia too. This gives a sense of peace and defense at the background of threats and dangers which may come from the East. We have common neighbor at the eastern part which creates challenges with the security questions, "- tells Khidasheli and refrains to name this neighbor - the Russian Federation.
Also she noted that security questions for the Black Sea wide region helpful is for the strengthening of Georgia's security at the same time. Tbilisi expects at Warsaw summit a package with a practical measures to improve own Army's compatibility with NATO's forces.
