Tinatin Khidasheli, Defense Minister of Georgia tells that "Georgia does not require any MAP- like instrument". She once more underlined those expectations and requirements that Georgia has in connection with NATO relationships.
She tells Georgia already has the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP), under which NATO would implement a "substantive package" of cooperation measures with Georgia. The Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP) is a set of measures and initiatives aimed at strengthening Georgia's defense capabilities. "That is a highest significance document, that ever was concluded with any other country."
Tina Khidasheli clarifies further: "We does not require any MAP-like document, we did not ask for this. Accordingly, we are not in expectation of the MAP. We asked for definite projects, with definite resources, this very important is. The both financial and finance resources are very important for those directions which our country has today. The Marine problems, the defense problems, the aviation and other areas need a support, and we should know from which organization what kind of the support we will get. Also what will be time limits and phases when this process will be over."
