Famous Georgian footballer, Milan defender Kakha Kaladze addresses the Patriarch, Parliament Speaker and President asking to release Giorgi Demetradze, another prominent soccer player from custody.
Kakha Kaladze voiced his address at the press conference today. He said he was prepared to emerge as a guarantor during the bail out within the Georgian legislation.
Kaladze presented the address, which was signed by 50 other people, most of them - sportsmen.
Kaladze said Demetradze had a very interesting career and promoted the country with his impressive playing many times; considering his contribution to the development and promotion of Georgian football, authors of the address believe he could be released from prison.
Giorgi Demetradze was arrested on July 5, 2010 and charged with money extortion. Kaladze says he had not heard about his contacts with criminals, neither had he seen the video evidence against him, however, he believed that his detention was a confusion and he is prepared to stand as guarantor for his release.
