"The main aim for all of us more defended Georgia is. We are returning from Warsaw much secured," - Tina Khidasheli, Defense Minister tells after bilateral meetings in the frames of Warsaw summit. She noted that the Warsaw summit exceeded all expectations.
The Defense Ministry informs that, Tinatin Khidasheli during two days conducted meetings with heads of the Baltic and Scandinavian states with defense and foreign ministers. She met with counterparts from Holland, Romania and Britain.
The trust fund was established for backing the JTEC (NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Education Center). Italy and Netherlands once again expressed its willingness for support of this fund. Norway takes full responsibility for the trust fund.
The main theme of discussion with Romanian party was a security questions at the Black sea. As Romania has a leading role in this area. The Romanian Defense Minister in conversation with Tina Khidasheli confirmed that Georgia will take one of the leading roles in a strategic dialogue for Black Sea security questions. The dialogue will start immediately after the summit. "We have already papers approved and signed that Georgia will take part in this strategic dialogue, "- Tina Khidasheli tells.
For information, the communiqué of NATO Warsaw summit in respect with Georgia and Ukraine particularly reads that:
" 23. ...In the Black Sea region, the security situation has also deteriorated in recent years. We will continue to address the implications for NATO of developments in the region and take them into account in the Alliance's approaches and policies. We will continue to support, as appropriate, regional efforts by the Black Sea littoral states aimed at ensuring security and stability. We will also strengthen our dialogue and cooperation with Georgia and Ukraine in this regard... "
