Sozar Subari, Georgia's Minister for IDPs, Accommodation and Refugees in connection with the criminal case of the company Center Point tells:
"Vakhtang Rcheulishvili (founder of eh Center Point) decided to deceive not only thousands of people but to add also refugees to this number. Naturally we could not allow this, and we would not help him in doing this. When we announced a competition for construction of apartments for refugees, we refuse. We had had two main aims, first and the main: to give a shelter for refugees, but as well we wished to support the construction works that started many years ago. This could help other citizens too.
Vakhtang Rcheulishvili took part in this competition twice. For the first time he was refused in absence of guaranties from a bank. Naturally, government would, not pay money without any guaranties and we may appear in the role of those deceived citizens, who were left without money paid and without flats.
For the second time he was refused as he could not present the necessary documentation that those construction areas belonged to him, were in his ownership.
In the first case everything was so evident, that he even did not dare to appeal. For the second case he appealed in a court and loose the case. He decided to act in his own style in case of refugees too. Naturally, we could not allow him to act in such way with us. Instead of doing something for those people who were deceived, to satisfy its needs, he was living like a millionaire. Now, when the criminal case neared to the stage of punishment, he decided to make political declarations. He would better have made some legislative arguments in his defense, and try to pay back to people whom he cheated, who were left without apartments, thanks to his financial machinations. "
