The Transparency International Georgia has declared that the elections campaign of Levan Varshalomoidze contains notions of inducement of the electorate. The organization detected that the UNM carries out in Batumi the "program of social homes", in the framers of which Levan Varshalomidze concludes individual agreements with local settlement.
According to the agreement the UNM regional organization takes an obligation to construct multy flat living blocks in a special places (in Batumi), to grant them free of charge for those people who are living in above mentioned settlement. The political party intends to carry out this project stage-by-stage in four years period. The agreement does not contains the information which sources is exploited for financing of such project.
According to the Elections Code such actions are inacceptable, - to induce the electorate with material means by the candidates. At the same time the inducement of the electorate is prohibited under the GCC.
The Transparency International Georgia calls on the CEC to get interested with the happening as the above mentioned fact may contain some kind of bribery of the local electorate.
