Sergi Kapanadze (UNM) responds to the recent decision of Russian Duma's International Committee members' initiation for ban of Georgian wine and mineral water. He underlined such decision denotes the Russian market is not stable and Russia exploits political levers for economic stability. And nothing change in respect of Russia's attitude to Georgia, as the opening of the economic market for Georgia was an illusion only.
"This illusion was promoted by the government of the day to our population. Russia is not a reliable partner, that the present statement of RF's parliamentarians is a clear example of this, "- Kapanadze tells.
To be noted, Russian Duma is preparing a statement for recommendation to the RF government for ban of Georgian wine in turn for joining of Georgia to EU Council's restrictive measures on evens developed in Crimea and Sevastopol.
As far as on July 20, the Declaration was issued by the EU High Representative on behalf of the EU on the alignment of certain countries concerning restrictive measures in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol.
The candidate countries Montenegro, Albania, and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, as well as Ukraine, and Georgia align themselves with this Council Decision. They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision. The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
