Meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries will probably take place within the framework of informal summit of the OSCE foreign ministers in Almaty, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan said today at a joint press conference with his Polish counterpart Radoslav Sikorski.
"I can say that such meeting is possible and as of the moment the OSCE Minsk group co-chairing countries are trying to organize it but it is not finally approved," the minister said.
In response to the question what issues will be discussed at the meeting taking into consideration that the Azerbaijani side says issues on Fizuli and Kelbajar, Edward Nalbandyan said if the meeting takes place, first of all it will be necessary to find out whether Azerbaijan is ready to continue the negotiations on the basis of the last variant of the Madrid document presented in Saint Petersburg. "I think this is the main issue of the possible meeting in Almaty, as to the rest illusions, our deputy foreign minister has already responded to them," the minister pointed out.
Edward Nalbandyan also noted that putting into circulation in the UN GA a one-sided document will have a negative impact on the process of negotiations. This opinion is also backed by all those countries which are supporting the parties in finding peaceful settlement of the issue.
