Georgian foreign Ministry has responded to the decision of the Belarus leadership, which has prohibited to its citizens to travel to the occupied territories of Georgia. Deputy Minister Aleksandre Nalbandov announced at the briefing today that this decision by Belarus had to be welcomed and appreciated especially in the terms of political pressure from Russia.
President of Belarus Alexandr Lukashenko has prohibited the Belarusian citizens to travel to Abkhazia and South Ossetia due to the lack of security in the occupied territories.
Georgia had applied to many friend countries to warn their citizens regarding the lack of security in the occupied territories, however, only some of them made official address like Lukashenko has done.
