The leaders of several non-parliamentary opposition parties met with the Foreign Minister of France Bernard Kouchner today. After the meeting, the leaders said they were satisfied with the meeting with the top French diplomat adding the meeting was sincere and focused on specific issues.
Irakli Alasania, the leader of the Free Democrats said they discussed the political situation in the country, election environment, the issues of Georgia-Russian relations and Georgia`s strategic cooperation with France.
`It was a very sincere and open meeting. We were surprised that Kouchner had much more questions about the democratic processes inside the country than we had expected,` one of the leaders of the Republican Party Tinatin Khidasheli told journalists.
As for another opposition leader, Nino Burjanadze, who leads Democratic Movement-United Georgia, her comments differed from what other leaders said. She confirmed that the dialogue was quite sincere, however, the sides emphasized that the talks about the development of democracy and democratic reforms were illusion and false.
