The Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained foreign persons at the Batumi border section No1 (Sarpi), for the attempt of illegal crossing of border. Among them, three persons are from Sri Lanka Republic and one from Turkey.
The investigation has detected that persons from Sri Lanka were trying to cross the border avoiding the Check Point with the support of Turkish national.
The criminal case initiated on attempt of the illegal crossing of border (under the Georgian Criminal Code Art. 19-344 part II). The Chief Investigative Department of the Border Police investigates the happening.
