Vice PM and Foreign Minister of Luxemburg, Jean Asselborn arrived in Tbilisi. The diplomat at first held talks with Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze.
After the meeting, the two ministers held a joint briefing. They both stressed significance of the ongoing visits of high-level diplomats to Georgia. Jean Asselborn said he has arrived in Tbilisi to confirm Luxemburg`s support to Georgia. He also spoke about significance of the agreement on Georgia`s associated membership to EU.
Asselborn also said, Luxemburg supports Georgia`s territorial integrity and Russia should fulfil the commitments taken by the 2008 cease-fire agreement.
`Two years ago, the European Union took responsibility to bring normality in relations between your country and all the neighbour countries. We will make our efforts for this and do our best that the parties fulfil their obligations`, Jean Asselborn said.
From the Foreign Ministry, the Luxemburgian diplomat moved to the Georgian parliament and held talks with teh chair of parliament there. He also intends to meet with representatives of parliamentary majority as well as minority. The meetings will be closed for press
