EU Spacial Representative will visit the village of Odza and Tserovani, where the IDP camps were arranged after the 2008 August war with Russia. She will get acquainted with the IDPs problems.

A meeting between Catherine Ashton and representatives of the Georgian opposition was held at the Tbilisi Marriot hotel yesterday. The talks were held on the issues of change of electoral state, democratic development of inner political processes in Georgia and EU associate membership agreement. The EU representative promised her assistance in this regard.

In the frameworks of the visit the meetings with President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili and Minister of Foreign Affairs Grigol Vashadze were held yesterday. Ashton and Saakashvili formally open negotiations over EU associate membership agreement. Discussions were also held on bilateral relation and current situation across Georgia's invaded territories.

Catherine Ashton arrived in Georgia yesterday.
