Women, members of different political parties signed a petition in support of Rusudan Kervalishvili, head of the Center Point.
They are avoiding to discuss the complicated details of the criminal case against her, as they are admitting, are not competent in this matter. However, they believe, her arrest for such a long period of time - 4 years, is not a proportionate measure against her, taking in view her merits in Parliament and politics.
Also they are concerned about the health conditions of her sister Maya Rcheulishvili, who also is sentenced for 4 years of imprisonment.
Women politicians are calling on the Georgian government to provide with the Fair Justice and secure our rights for the fair and independent court. They are demanding to use only legitimate measures against accused persons but not a revenge directed against the family.
