The leader of the Our Georgia-Free Democrats, Irakli Alasania was answering the questions of journalists in the Caucasus Internet Media Group today. Alasania said the Europe was waiting for the change of Georgian government and that they consider it quite possible that post-Saakashvili period may arrive in Georgia via elections.
He said the visit of the European senior authorities was very important for Georgia, it would facilitate the process of democratic development and improve the electoral environment.
Irakli Alasania said the ruling party had no intention to hand over the rule of the country to anybody and that the civil and political activities were required for the change in the country.
Along with the improvement of electoral system, the amendments to the state constitution are also very significant. For him it is unacceptable to adopt the new constitution was fitted to any politician. He said for legalizing the constitution, it must be adopted either by the parliament which will be elected in 2012 or via plebiscite.
