Public Defender Giorgi Tughushi had a 45-minute speech in Georgian parliament today. A special session was convened to listen to the ombudsman`s report.
Giorgi Tughushi spoke about the situation in various sectors including penitentiary system, children`s asylums, problems of the IDPs and the disabled people, violations of the rights of possession, issues of religious minorities and violations of the rights of journalists, especially in regions.
The parliament session hall was almost empty while the ombudsman was reading his report of the second half of the year 2009.
