The informal meeting of the OSE foreign ministers is underway in Kazakhstan. Delegation of the Georgian Foreign Ministry headed by Minister Grigol Vashadze is also attending the meeting. The main issues of the agenda are future of European security, support to Kyrgyzstan and Afghan issues.
Grigol Vashadze delivered a speech at the very first session. He held a meeting with UK Minister for Europe David Lidington. They discussed bilateral relations within the OSCE and talked about necessity of the organization.
Grigol Vashadze also met with Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet. The two counterparts signed amendments to the agreement on avoiding double taxation on incomes and capital between Georgia and Estonia.
Vashadze also held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Montenegro, Serbia and Cyprus.
The Georgian minister also met with NATO Secretary General Special Representative for South Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons.
`Georgia as well as the United Kingdom stands on the position that OSCE is a cornerstone for security and stability. This organization should be maintained and even strengthened`, Grigol Vashadze said.
